Here we have finally got a few warm summer days and yesterday we even made it to the beach! Our backyard terrace is has a bit boring wide concrete base and to make it a bit nicer we decorated the area with garden lights and got a new table and chairs with a rug. I spent some time lookign for used garden furniture as we left ours to Finland but couldn't find much anything nice. So we ended up going to IKEA once again. But now with the flowers blooming the backyard looks much better too!

Täällä on vihdoin kevät näyttänyt aurinkoa ja eilen päästiin jopa jo läheisen järven uimarannalle! Kukkaloisto sen kuin laajenee ja nyt vihdoin meidän takapihallakin alkaa olla väriä. Emme muuttaneet Suomesta pihakalusteita ja niinpä nyt päädyimmekin ostamaan muutaman tänne. Etsin jonkin aikaa kierrätyskalusteita pihalle, mutta valikoima oli aika huono ja aika kallis. Varmasti pidemmällä ja ahkerammalla etsinnällä jotain olisi löytynyt, mutta kun ilmat alkoivat lämmetä oli kiva päästä istumaan ulos!
Takapihallamme on iso ja aika tylsä betoninen terassi katoksen alla ja sen tunnelmaa sai hieman nostettua puutarhavalosarjalla ja IKEA:sta haetuilla tuoleilla ja pöydällä. Toki lähinnä kukkiva ja vehreä puutarha tekee siitä jo paljon paremman näköisen! Pöydän alle otimme myös muovimaton joka tuntuu mukavammalta jalkojen alla.
My dad visited us last week and already beforehand I made a larger Marimekko order for some souvenirs for myself. The Marimekko products are a bit more pricier in the US so to save also the mailing costs it made sens to get my dad to carry the things over. I'm in love with Marimekko's new Ojakellukka pattern by Aino-Maija Metsola and wanted to get a few products like the pillow case and the cup for example. They perfectly match with the garden that has just started to bloom!
I've even earlier already ordered some Marimekko fabrics through Finnish Design Shop as their mail cost for fabrics and pillow cases for example is not that bad to the USA but as I wanted few other items as well it was definitely cheaper this way.

Isäni kävi viime viikon täällä kylässä ja laitoin jo ennakkoon hänelle tilausta Marimekon Ojakellukka uutuuksista, joihin olen aivan ihastuksissa. Täällä Marimekon tuotteet ovat kalliimpia kuin Suomessa niin olen jopa tilannut kangasta Finnish Desigs Shopista tänne asti kun kankaan postimaksu ei huimaa päätä. Nyt halusin kuitenkin pari isompaakin esinettä kuten Ojakellukka mukin, joten oli helpompi tilata ostokset ensin isälleni ja hän kantoi tuliaiset perille. Eli niistäpä sai myös lisää kukkaloistoa pihalle!
