Vintage experience

Tukholmassa oli viileä ja sateinen viikonloppu, mutta meillä oli mukavaa! Södermalmilla löytyy toinen toistaan ihanampia liikkeitä. Yksi pistäytymisen arvoinen paikka Södermalmin kierroksella on Krukmakargatanilla vanhan paloaseman tiloissa sijaitseva tunnelmallinen ja tyylikäs Herr Juditin antiikkiliike Brandstationen. Tästä ns. vintagen konseptiliikkeestä löytyy antiikki tavaroiden ja huonekalujen lisäksi myös mm. vintage koruja sekä jotain uusiakin tuotteita. Samalta kadulta löytyy mm. myös ihana taide- ja designlehtiparatiisi Papercut.

Last weekend in Stockholm was bit rainy but we enjoyed it a lot! One cool place worth visiting in Södermalm shop tour is this stylish antigue and vintage shop Brandstationen by Herr Judit that's located in the old firestation space on Krukmakargatan. This so called vintage concept store sells carefully selected antiques as well as vintage jewellery and also few new products as well among other things. On the same street you can also find Papercut shop, the paradise of art and design magazines.

off to Stockholm!

Aikaiset espressot naamaan, laukut olalle ja menoks! Oli aika hyvää tuo fairtrade roast espresso ja ah kun pakkaus sopii taas niin nätisti näytille niinkuin kaikkilla Clipper tuotteilla. Me lähdetäänkin nyt viettämään viikonloppua Tukholmaan! Jostain syystä jäikin kiireessä tutkimatta monien blogien hyvät Tukholman sisustus ym. shoppailu vinkit -Jos tulee mieleen mitään ehdottoman hyvää vinkkiä niin saa kertoa!? Hejdå ja mukavaa viikonloppua teillekin!

Early morning espressos and we are ready to go! The fairtrade roast espresso coffee is pretty good and how pretty the packaging graphics are once again, like always in all Clipper products. We are off to Stockholm for the weekend! Have a nice one!

Ikea Uppleva

Kyllä ne vaan tuolla Ikealla ymmärtää yksinkertaisuuden päälle! Uppleva yhdistää kaiken olohuoneen teknologian yhteen pakettiin, ja mikä parasta -ilman johtoja! Less is more.

Have to say that at Ikea they really understand what good simplicity is! Uppleva is all the livingroom electronics in one and the best part is that it's all cordless! Less is more.

petit Thonet

Rahti toi Ranskan maalta Mimille kaksi omaa pientä klassikko tuolia. Tuolit saivat heti suuren suosion ja sopivat hyvin lempiharrastukseenkin, eli ikkunasta tiirailuun ja autojen bongailuun. Nuo lasten Thonetit ovat niin hienot ja tietenkin kun niitä sai eri väreissä niin ei tämä väripöllö pystynyt pitämään siinäkään värinhimoa kurissa ja nyt lastenhuone näyttää taas hieman enemmän karkkipäivältä parin kirkkaan värisen namin kanssa. Mutta sehän on vaan hyvä.

We received from France couple of small chair classics for Mimi. She loved them right away and found them also perfect for one of her favorite hobbies: looking out from the window for cars. These chidren sized Thonet's are so nice and since they come in various colors I couldn't help myself picking two bright colors and now the children's room looks even more like a box full of candy. But that's just good.

the Steltons

Meillä asustaa nykyään yksi Steltonin pariskunta. Viime viikolla haaveilin siitä punaisesta Steltonin pressopannusta, mutta kun kaupasta löytyi siihen hätään vaan valkoista tai mustaa. Kahviahan piti pääsiäisvieraille saada tietenkin keitettyä joten joku kahvikeitin piti saada. Ystäväkin sai onneksi puhuttua tuon valkoisen puolesta, kun onhan meillä jo nuo punaiset laatat ja vaikeaa kuitenkin verrata onko punainen se sama punainen kuitenkaan. Mitäs sitten oltaisiin tehty kun laatat ja keitin olisivat vierekkäin ja silmään sattuisi tuo väriero -auts. Vaikka olisihan se punainen toki ollut syötävän söpö, mutta kyllä tuolla valkoisella Stelton parilla voi nyt tyylikkäästi kahvitella ja valkoinenhan toimii aina! No mutta kahvi on hyvää ja sitten viikonlopun viettoon!

Nowadays we've got one Stelton couple living in our place as well. Last week I dreamed about the red Stelton coffee press, but what to do when they sold only white or black in the shop that moment when I needed one. We needed to have coffee to serve for our easter guests and needed to get a coffee maker at that moment. Luckily also a friend talked me around to get the white one as we already have those red kitchen tiles too. What if the reds are not matching and your eye hurts everytime you see the tiles and the coffee press at the same time and so on... Well surely the red one would have been so cute but have to say that together the white Steltons are pretty stylish for serving and white just always works! Anyway the coffee is good and I wish you a nice weekend!

inspiration: metallic with tones of oil

Vaihteeksi jotain vähän muuta. Jotain kiehtovaa mihin olen netin syövereissä törmännyt: metallisia pintoja joissa välkkyy öljyn sävyt. Näissä kaikissa on jotain todella kaunista mikä inspiroi valtavasti.

Something else for a change. Something that I recently came across and find very intriguing: metallic surfaces with the color tones of oil. In all these there's something really beautiful that I find really intriguing and inspiring.

Voi kuinka lämmin auringonvalo ja pienet paljaat varpaat ovat ihanat!

Pian tulee kesä ja voidaan juoksenella näin myös ulkona -en malta odottaa!

easter cards

Blogimaailmassa teippivillitys on jatkunut jo aika pitkään ja niinpä täälläkin kiireessä pääsiäsikortit tehtiin teipaten. Ihan hauskoja näistä munakorteista kuitenkin tuli ja nopeasti ne ainakin sai tehtyä! Harmittaa vaan ihan älysti kun muistin postilaatikon tyhjennys ajan väärin ja nyt ystävät hyvät saavat kortit vasta pääsiäisen jälkeen. Nolo kotiäiti täällä selittelee, joka olisi hyvin ehtinyt aiemminkin postilootalle, mutta kun kortti inspiraation iski niin myöhään... No, jollain nettisivulla mainostettiin, että vielä ehdit lähettää sähköisen pääsiäiskortin -Siispä toivotan näillä korteilla kaikille teille hyvää ja iloista pääsiäistä!

Taping things has been around in the blog world for a while now and so here once more I used tape to decorate my quick easter cards. They became quite fun and it was fast! Too bad I remembered wrong the time when the mail leaves and now my dear friends will get these easter eggs late and after easter. What can I say, I would have had time before too but the card inspiration hit me too late... Well well, on some website I saw a banner saying it's not too late to send an easter ecard -So with these cards I'm wishing you all great and happy easter time!

if I could spend 500...

Sain haasteen Minnalta tuhlata kuvitteelliset 500€ sisustukseen, no vaikeaahan tuo leikki ei ole! Näistä valitsemistani jutuista olen kyllä jo vähän haaveillutkin ja varmaan monet niistä pysyvät yhä haaveena pitkään. Noin 500€ näihin uppoaisi ainakin Finnish Design shopin hinnoilla, yleensä kyttään alennuksia tällaisissa jutuissa ja ostan silloin kun sattuu alennus kohdalle. Ihan oikeasti me tarvittaisiin tuo pressopannu, kun onnistuin rikkomaan vanhan pannun lasin viime viikolla ja ehkä tuollainen termari versio olisi muutenkin kätevämpi. Meillä on kyllä jo paljon punaista, mutta tuo punainen olisi niin söpö... Nyt kaipaan myös sinistä kevääseen ja punaiselle kaveriksi -eli lisää väriä vaan!

I was challenged by Minna to spend imaginary 500€ to home interior, that's not too difficult game to play! These are based on the prices of the Finnish Design Shop and would make about 500€. I've already dreamed of these for a while and they surely will stay as a dream, but actually we would really need the coffee press as I broke the glass of the previous just last week. The Stelton press should not brake that easily and keeps the coffee hot as well so that's why it would be my choice. I know we start to have too much red already at home, but the red one is just so cute... Now I'm missing a bit blue for the spring and to accompany all the red -so just more colors for us please!

I'm going to pass the challenge on to Johanna, Aniliini and Tuijariikka!

yellow like easter

Ei tipuja vaan pupuja. Askartelin pari origami pääsiäispupua (Crease & Fold origami kirjasta), vaikka jotenkin ne minusta kyllä näyttävät vähän koirilta... Taittelu oli sen verran, että ehkä tämä pupu perhe ei tuosta ihan valtavasti lisäänny tai ehkä harjoitus tässäkin tekee sen mestarin ja seuraavat puput eivät näyttäisi enää koirilta. Jouluksi maalaamani oksa sai Tiimarista löytyneet paperimassapallot oksiinsa ja tsadaa -nyt siitä tuli pääsiäisoksa!

I made couple of origami bunnies as easter decoration (instructions from the Crease & Fold book), but somehow to me they look a bit like dogs... Folding was that tricky that there might not be more bunnies in this family or maybe with more practice they would actually look more like bunnies and not dogs. The branch I painted for christmas got some paper mache balls and is now an easter branch!

Tänään olikin aika yllätys kun meille saapui vihdoin lähetys Ranskasta! Kyseessä oli vielä viho viimeiset häälahjat jotka tilattiin uuden vuoden Pariisin reissulla. Ne hääthän meillä oli jo 2,5 vuotta sitten... mutta silloin päätimme lomamatkarahaston sijaan meillä oli tili mieheni kotikaupungin Pariisin Conran Shopissa. Olemme muutamaan otteeseen käyttäneet rahat harkiten tarkkaan ja pitkään mihin ne käytetään. Postikulut olivat hieman kalliit kun viimeksi tilattiin mm. tuoleja, mutta onneksi ne sai vähennettyä tilitä. Tässä muutama vinkki laatikoista mitä sieltä kotiutu, lisää esittelyjä myöhemmin kun ne löytävät paikkansa. Jatkan täällä tätä joulun viettoa ja mietin minne poraillaan...

Today we got a quite surprise when we received a shipment from France! We received some very late wedding gifts that we had ordered in our new year's trip to Paris. We got married already 2,5 years ago... Then we had a wedding list in the Conran Shop in Paris (my husband hometown). We've used the gift money in couple of parts and tried to select very carefully and slowly some classics that would last time and would fit us and our place. Here's few hints of the boxes we received, I'll show more of them when they find their places. I'll continue spending this christmas here and try to decide what walls we are going to drill...

feathers and chocolate

Eilen illalla oltiin tunnelmallisesti kynttilän valossa Eart Hour aikaan. Tänään ollaan saatu tehtyä pari virpovitsaa ja mm. virvottu mummi, kylläkin skypen kautta. Meidän perinteen (karjalaisen) mukaan palkan saa vasta pääsiäisenä, mutta suklaamunia saa kyllä jo syödä! Hyvää palmusunnuntaita!

Yesterday we spend the evening in the candle light during the Eart Hour. Today on Palm Sunday the tradition is to wish good luck to others with decorated willow branches, we already did it for grandmother but through skype. Have a nice Sunday!
