coffee with design in Copenhagen

I'm not making a long list of recommendations for Copenhagen traveller now, but this very tiny Kafferiet coffee place I thought was worth mentioning. This small cafe kiosk is so tiny we almost passed it but due to the fun and kitsch objects in the window we decided to pop in to grab a coffee. Inside I met a man called Rud Christiansen who I found out was the other one creators and owners of the cafe as well as the well known The Royal Café in Copenhagen. While waiting for my cappuccinos I also learned how they had developed "Smushi" as the more fancy version of the traditional danish smørrebrød -the open face sandwiches. The Royal Smushi is served in The Royal Café as well as many of their similar café-restaurants in Asia.

This tiny coffee shop in the pictures is located in the corner of the Rosengard Palace Garden in the crossing of Gothersgade and Kronprinsessegade. The place is really cute and the coffee was good too! One of the fun details in this place of only few square meters was the huge Luceplan light hanging in the ceiling. It had took two men altogether 8 hours to bring the light in, take it apart first and put it together again inside.

Later on we had to also go to The Royal Café to taste these sushi type of sandwiches, Smushies. Below in the video the guy I met is telling a bit more about the café as well you can see more about the fun and unique interior of the place.
